"There is a small painting by my grandmother that hangs above the dining room entry. It’s buttermilk biscuits, steaming at the top, shiny with melted margarine, and it states the intention of the room. The dining room is both museum and café. It is where we conduct toddler art class with tempura paint; it’s also where we eat biscuits and cornbread hot from the cast iron skillet." - Erin

Candle Care

Avoid Tunneling

Allow the pool of melted wax to reach all the way to the edge of your candle vessel every time you light it, and keep it lit until the entire top of the candle is liquid wax. Your candle won't tunnel and will last longer!

Trim the Wick

Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before lighting. A wick that is too long will cause smoke and produce soot. A short wick does a great job at creating the pool of melted wax, where the fragrance comes from.

Other Tips

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Stop burning candle when 3/8 inch of wax remains at the bottom. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
